I said to the wanting-creature inside me: What is this river you want to cross? There are no travelers on the river-road, and no road. Do you see anyone moving about on that bank, or nesting? There is no river at all, and no boat, and no boatman. There is no tow rope either, and no one to pull it. There is no ground, no sky, no time, no bank, no ford! And there is no body, and no mind! Do you believe there is some place that will make the soul less thirsty? In that great absence you will find nothing. Be strong then, and enter into your own body; there you have a solid place for your feet. Think about it carefully! Don't go off somewhere else! Kabir says this: just throw away all thoughts of imaginary things, and stand firm in that which you are... Kabir

If I cut a faithful Muslim into pieces to make him hate me, he will not turn into my enemy and if I give all the wealth of this world to a hypocrite to make him my friend he will not befriend me. It is so because the Holy Prophet has said: " O Ali! No faithful Muslim will ever be your enemy and no hypocrite will ever be your friend... Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; For love is sufficient unto love... And think not you can direct the course of love, For love, if it finds you worthy, Directs your course. Love has no other desire, but to fulfil itself... Khalil Gibran

اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ "I submit my life to you, I turn towards You and leave my work unto you, I lean on you, desire your boons and fear you as th ere is no other salvation besides you. I believe in the kitab (Book) you have revealed and in the Rasul(Prophet) you have sent. Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) showed (taught a Sahabi) this dua and said: "If after reading it you die in the night, then it is as if you have died on 'Natural Deen' and if you awake in the morning alive then you will have good fortune". (Mishkat)

Since Love has made ruins of my heart The sun must come and illumine them. Such generosity has broken me with shame: The King prayed for me, and granted me His prayer: How many times, just to calm me, did He show His face? I said, "I saw His Face," but it was only a veil. He charred a universe through the flaming-out of this veil. O my God! How could such a King ever be unveiled? Love reared in front of me, and I followed Him. He turned and seized me like an eagle -- What a blessing it was to be His prey! I plunged into a sea of ecstasy, and fled all pain. If anguish is not delicious meat for you, It is because you have never tasted this wine. The Prophets accept all agony and trust it For the water has never feared the fire... My Lord Look! My Lord is such a great doer of things, That my Lord commands full authority. Of great and virtuous people that one can name, My Lord is beyond them all. He is not dependent upon others for his needs. My Lord owes nothing to anyone. He created life from nothingness. My Lord is this kind of creator. He has fashioned all created things. My Lord hears all speech. Of which there is no similarity of likeness, My Lord is the maker of such scents. Of every structure in this world or the one to come, My Lord is mason of them all. He is the reader of unwritten scriptures, My Lord is the knower of all secrets. The overt, the covert and the part-known, My Lord knows them all. What is created, what is concealed, what is between, My Lord is aware of them all. He does not have any associate in his kingdom, My Lord is a king without a partner. His oneness is not due to weakness, For my Lord is infinite in one body. He needs friendship from no one, Whose friend is my Lord? I don...

There was once a mystic who had great powers of asceticism. He lived as an ordinary fisherman and everyday he would go out in his boat and catch many fish. He would distribute his catch amongst the poor and only save one fish head for hi mself. One day he called one of his trusted disciples and said "It appears that my spiritual development is held up by something and I have not been able to fathom out what it is. I want you to go and visit a great Sufi mystic who lives some way away. I want you to ask him for the solution to my problem. He is one of those much loved by God." Accordingly the disciple travelled for many weeks until he reached the town of the great Sufi. He enquired as to the direction to his cave but was shown instead the path to a great mansion, a veritable palace situated on the top of a hill. He checked again and all agreed that this was where the mystic lived. As he walked up the hill his mind was filled with amazement and doubt - how could a great S...

"Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win." ― Zhuge Liang (諸葛亮, 181–234; nickname: "Wolong" 臥龍, literally: "Crouching Dragon") *Zhuge Liang was a famous strategist in the Three Kingdom Era of China history. "Zhuge" is an uncommon two-character compound family name. His name – even his surname alone – has become synonymous with intelligence and strategy in Chinese culture...

When Christ said that man does not live by bread alone, he spoke of a hunger. This hunger was not the hunger of the body. It was not the hunger for bread. He spoke of a hunger that begins deep down in the very depths of our being. He spoke of a need as vital as breath. He spoke of our hunger for love. Love is something you and I must have. We must have it because our spirit feeds upon it. We must have it because without it we become weak and faint. Without love our self-esteem weakens. Without it our courage fails. Without love we can no longer look out confidently at the world... But with love, we are creative. With it, we march tirelessly. With it, and with it alone, we are able to sacrifice for others... Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, ‘On the last night of Ramadhaan the fasting Muslims are forgiven.’ The Sahaabah radiyallahu anhum inquired, ‘O Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, is that the night of power(LAILATUL QADR)?’ Ra sulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam replied, ‘No! But it is only right that a servant should be given his reward on having completed his duty’ [Ahmad] Hazrat Ibn Abbas(radhiyallahu anhu) says in a lengthy hadith, that he heard Rasullullah (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) say: “And the night of Eid-ul-Fitr, the night that is called Laylatul Jaa’izah, (The night of prize giving), comes along. On the morning of Eid Allah sends down the Malaa’ikah to all the lands of the earth where they take their positions at access points of roads, calling out with a voice that is heard by all except man and jinn. “O Ummah of Muhammad (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) come forth from your houses towards a Lord that is noble and gracious, who grants much and pardons ...
