Rukhsat ae bazm-e-jahan! soo-e-watan jata hoon mein
Aah! is abaad weerane mein ghabrata hun mein

Qaad hei darbar-e-sultan-o-shabistan-e-wazir
Torr ker nikle ga zanjeer-e-talai ka aseer

Go barri lazat teri hamgama arai mein hai
Ajnabiat si magar teri shanasai mein hai

Mudat’on tere khud aaraon se hamsuhbat raha
mudat’on betaab mauj-e-bahr ke surat raha

Mudat’ot batha tare hangama-e-ishrat mein main
Roshni ki justuju karta raha zulmat mein main

Mudat’on dhunda kia nazara-e-gul, khar mein,
Aah! voh Yusuf na hath aia tere bazaar mein

Chashm-e-haran dhundti ab aur nazara ko hai
Arzo sahil ki mujh tufaan ke mare ko hei

  The Imam Shadhili said; about the Hizb ul Bahr By God, I did not utter it [the Litany of the Sea] except as it came from the Prophet of God   (s), from whose instruction I learned it. "Guard it;' he said to me, "for it contains the Ism al-'Adhim-Greatest name of God:"-  It is not recited in any place without security reigning there. If it had been with the inhabitants of Baghdad, the Tatars would not have taken the city. On his death bed Imam Shadhili  gave Naseeha-counsel to recite his Litany of the Sea (Hizb ul Bahr) often, and he said, “Teach it to your children for  the Ism al-'Adhim-Greatest name of God is in it.” Hizb ul Bahr  Bismillahir rahmanir raheem. In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
