Charity in islam ....

Image
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Every good deed is charity. The concept of charity derives from the fact to acknowledge that we own nothing but whatever has been given to us is a blessing by Allah (SWT) and it’s His property. So when we give out something from our pocket, we are actually sharing Allah’s blessings with His mankind and since we don’t own anything, we don’t lose anything by giving out but only gain Allah’s rewards. “Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.” (Quran 3:92) Charity is purely for the sake of Allah and no worldly gain should be intended while making charity. It should only be made to seek Allah’s forgiveness and His blessings. “They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, “Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whate

Remembrance of Allah (Zikr Allah) from Quran and Hadiths...

The Arabic word dhikr means to remember Allah. Which is light on the tongue but heavy on the Scale is the remembrance of Allah . O you who believe! Remember Allāh with much remembrance.(Al-Ahzab 33:41) Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. (Al Imran 3:190) Those who remember Allāh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. (Al Imran 3:191) During the hustle and bustle of our frantic lives, the day seems to go by so quickly that it is not until a rare quiet moment late at night that we may realize we have not remembered Allah throughout the day. Apart from the five daily p

Concentration and Staying  Focused while reciting Quran, doing Zikr and Offering Namaz

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful When you have your plate full, keeping focused isn’t always easy. And when we can’t give our full attention to a task, we can’t give it our best. This can start a cycle of demotivation and non-productivity, unless we pull in the reins and turn it around. It takes a strong resolve to focus, good motivation, and working smartly to beat distractions. Attention is like a muscle. Initially, when you try and hold your attention on something, it may feel that you are using more and more energy and it is fatiguing. That perception is sound, as you have to use energy to maintain attention. However, the more you flex your attention the stronger it becomes, and easier to hold. The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) tells us the first thing that the servant of Allah will be questioned on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Salat, if it’s good, then, all of the other deeds will be accepted regardless if you have missing few things

Laa Haula Wa Laa Quwwata il-la-Bil-Laah

Saying “Laa Haula Wa Laa Quwwata il-la-Bil-Laah” According to the glorious Prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, it is “one of the treasures of Paradise”. This statement is an expression of a servant’s humble submission to the power and glory of his Lord Almighty. It is a declaration announcing the reality of all realities: Everything happens only with the help of Allah alone. Man, however strong, powerful and great, is powerless, weak and meek in front of Allah. Laa Hawla Wa Laa Quwwata Il-la Bil-laah in simple English means “There is neither might nor power except with Allah”. This powerful statement is the proclamation that All power, might, strength, grandeur and glory is by Allah, from Allah and belongs to Allah. As I mentioned before, Laa Hawla Wa Laa Quwwata Il-la Bil-laah is one of the Treasures of Jannah: a) Abu Musa (R.A) reported: “While we were with Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) in a holy battle, we never went up a hill or reached its peak or went down a valley but raised ou

Benefits of the recitation of the chapters of the Holy Qur’an

The Verse “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim” If we were to give an exhaustive account of the benefits of the recitation of “Bismillah…” we would need more than a single volume to do justice to it. Apart from being part of every chapter in the Holy Qur’an (except the chapter of repentance [Surah at-tawba]), it is also the most oft repeated verse in the Holy Qur’an. It is narrated in Tafsir al-Burhaan that the Holy Prophet (S) has said that when a person recites “Bismillah...” then five thousand ruby palaces are built for him in Jannah Each palace has a thousand chambers made of pearls and in each chamber has seventy thousand thrones of emerald and each throne has seventy thousand carpets made from special fabrics and upon each carpet is seated a Hur-ul-Ein. A person asked for the condition necessary to get this great reward and the Holy Prophet (S) replied that the person should recite the “Bismillah…” with conviction and understanding. The Holy Prophet (S) has also said that when a belie
